Employee Highlight: Campbell Cooke

Campbell Cooke is an electrical engineer on H2E’s Power team, working out of H2E’s Liberty Lake office. Hailing from Houston, Texas; Campbell received a bachelor’s in science of electrical engineering degree with minors in physics and mathematics from Texas A&M University. Originally seeking a career in nanotechnology, Campbell found his love of math and science through the challenge of his college program and now applies that passion and knowledge to projects in multiple industrial sectors, including his developing specialties, underground and surface mining.

Campbell began his career with an internship at H2E during college where he gained a first-hand view of what being a consulting engineer is like. He was offered a job at H2E upon completion of his degree and that was when he made the decision to be a power engineer as he “hates coding” and because “It’s cool to be a real electrical power engineer, it’s a discipline that’s been around forever, its integral to all of the processes I get to work on, and its historical for our region to. Hydropower and transmission lines are awesome and define our area, the engineering behind them isn’t not going anywhere anytime soon.” Now well over a year into his career at H2E, Campbell says that his favorite on-site experience has been “Testing power relays at a gold mine in the Rocky Mountains.” These outlooks and experiences have quickly seasoned Campbell into an engineer able to directly contribute solutions to the problems H2E tackles every day.

In reflecting on his development and challenges over the past years, as he defined his career path, Campbell said, “Too many people try and quit, and are constantly moving on to the next thing. It’s rewarding to have discipline and work through it and apply yourself. Even the best things in life have growing pains, and it shows that you’re growing.” With his appreciative outlook towards engineering and a stalwart tenacity toward constantly learning, there is no doubt that Campbell’s capabilities will continue to blossom into more effective and innovative solutions for the Clients that he supports.

We are very lucky to have Campbell on our team!
