Tara Day is a Power Engineer based out of H2E’s Liberty Lake office who has been elevating H2E’s Power Team for nearly four years! Originally from Spokane Valley, Tara received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems from Eastern Washington University. Now an accomplished engineer who specializes in the hydroelectric, chemical manufacturing, crane, and light metals industries; Tara has established herself as a staple of H2E’s engineering excellence.
Tara was initially drawn to engineering through her robotics competitions in high school where she competed at the international level, “A friend told me that the robotics team needed help on the electrical portion of the robot, I became fascinated by how the different aspects like power, mechanical, and software worked together and how I could problem solve getting the proper power to each component.” This experience, combined with an extensive internship in hydroelectric utilities led Tara to H2E!
Now, after recently becoming a Mom, Tara is advancing the industrial engineering field and raising the next generation of engineers. “H2E has given me a lot of room to grow personally and professionally. I am gaining experience in so many industry sectors and I'm always getting hands-on experience in the field. My team being so flexible around my pregnancy and maternity leave helped give me the motivation to keep improving and refining my specialties”. With plans to expand her knowledge in relay programming, medium voltage distribution, and to introduce her son to the joys of math and science, Tara’s influence in the engineering world continues to grow!
We are very lucky to have Tara on our team!
